Where Passion Meets Purpose

Elena’s journey began in international development, where she spent nearly a decade tackling poverty and inequality across Central Asia, the Balkans, and Africa. These experiences ignited her passion for creating opportunities that empower underserved communities.

Her mission took a deeply personal turn when a teacher told her daughter she couldn’t pursue a career in tech because she was a girl. This moment became a catalyst for Elena’s commitment to breaking barriers and ensuring technology is accessible to everyone, regardless of gender, background, or circumstance.

In 2018, Elena founded Teens in AI with a bold vision: to inspire young people worldwide to use artificial intelligence for social good. Her work has since empowered thousands of teens to tackle real-world challenges, combining cutting-edge technology with creativity and ethics.

Beyond Teens in AI, Elena has collaborated with global organisations, advised on AI education policies, and championed diversity and inclusion in technology. Her unwavering commitment to innovation and equality continues to shape a more inclusive and responsible digital future.

Responsible innovation should be at the core of every business

My Mission

At the heart of Elena’s work lies a commitment to ethical AI, diversity, and empowering the next generation of innovators. Her mission is to ensure that young people, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, have the tools and opportunities to shape the future of technology responsibly.

Elena envisions a world where technology is a force for inclusion, equity, and social good—bridging divides and creating opportunities for all. By championing diversity in AI and education, she is working to build a future where every young person can see themselves as a creator, problem-solver, and leader in a rapidly evolving digital world.

“I believe technology is a tool for empowerment. When we teach young people to innovate with purpose and integrity, we are not just shaping their futures—we are shaping the future of the world.”

Making an Impact

Founder of Teens In AI

Elena Sinel’s passion for making technology accessible led her to create Teens in AI, an initiative that equips young people aged 12 to 19 with the tools to explore artificial intelligence while addressing real-world challenges. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, the programme opens doors for teens to become problem-solvers, innovators, and ethical leaders in the tech world.

Teens in AI offers a range of impactful programmes, from the AI4Good Incubator, where teens work on climate-focused AI projects, to the Global Techathon, a hands-on event promoting diversity and innovation through UN Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative also features online AI Adventures courses and the monthly Teens in Action Forum, connecting young people with industry leaders to discuss AI’s ethical and social implications.

Elena’s vision for Teens in AI goes beyond teaching technical skills—it’s about empowering young people from all backgrounds to see themselves as creators and changemakers. The initiative is a testament to her belief that technology can drive inclusion, equity, and meaningful global impact.
